Gabriella Major | painter

I was born in the eastern part of Hungary and completed my schooling here, mainly in the field of economics.

I earned a degree in economics here and work in the entrepreneurial and marketing sectors. From this perspective, I developed an understanding of the current market for artworks and society, which I would like to explore more deeply.

I connect to painting through colors, fundamentally my relationship is with them.

I have had the opportunity to choose which master artists to learn from, who include Gábor Nagy, Beáta Erdős (restorer), and painters Lóránd Sipos.

Artistic versatility and respect for the great predecessors are important to me; this is reflected in the diversity of artistic techniques and materials I use. Giotto's gold technique is one of my favorites, but oil paint and watercolor have also remained expressive tools for me.

"Art heals" is the worldview that has given rise to the need that increasingly defines my everyday life.
I am a member of artists' associations as a painter and curator. As a curator and President of the Sotis Art Society, I organize several exhibitions every year. One of the biggest challenges is the annual large exhibition in Dombóvár, where several artists have entrusted me with their paintings.

My own paintings and graphics have been exhibited in many places across the country, including Sopron, Péliföldszentkereszt, and Budapest. This year, my solo major exhibition was held in Budapest at the Benczúr Hotel. I have a permanent exhibition in Nyíregyháza, and an exhibition of nature paintings is being organized in Vásárosnamény.
